Milo Đukanović stated that a series of political scandals and affairs in Montenegro are the result of external influence, directly accusing Serbia, Russia and foreign intelligence services of being behind them. According to his remarks, the developments in the country are not isolated incidents, but part of a broader effort aimed at destabilizing the state.
Đukanović said that Montenegro has been exposed for a long time to coordinated actions designed to undermine its institutional capacity and its Euro-Atlantic orientation. He emphasized that such influence is visible in political life and manifests itself through various affairs, which he described as not accidental, but rather part of a wider strategy of external interference.
In his statements, he pointed to Serbia as a factor with an interest in influencing internal processes in Montenegro, while Russia was mentioned as a country traditionally opposing Montenegro’s Euro-Atlantic integration. He also highlighted the role of foreign intelligence services, which, according to him, operate through different channels to create political instability.
Đukanović stressed that these processes are not new, but continuous, and that Montenegro has previously faced similar attempts of external interference. He argued that current scandals should be viewed within that broader geopolitical context.
