Montenegro has launched two seasonal maritime routes linking its coastal towns of Budva and Kotor with Dubrovnik, Croatia, in an effort to improve regional connectivity and support the summer tourism season.
The new sea lines, Budva–Dubrovnik and Kotor–Dubrovnik, officially began operating on Monday. Montenegro’s Minister of Transport, Filip Radulović, said the relaunch of international seasonal maritime services represents an important step toward strengthening regional mobility and expanding the country’s tourism offer.
According to Radulović, connecting Budva and Kotor with Dubrovnik by sea adds value to the tourist season and shows that Montenegro is developing more modern and sustainable transport links with neighboring countries.
“These routes will help improve mobility for both tourists and residents, reduce congestion at border crossings during the summer months, and promote Montenegro’s coast as an attractive and easily accessible destination,” Radulović said.
During the peak tourist season, the Budva–Dubrovnik line will operate six times a week, twice as frequently as last year, while the Kotor–Dubrovnik route will operate three times a week.
