The Macedonian National Theatre continues its regional tour with a guest performance in Dubrovnik, where it will present one of the most successful productions from its current repertoire, “12”. The performance is scheduled to take place at the renowned Marin Držić Theatre, one of Croatia’s leading cultural venues.
Directed by Siniša Evtimov, the play is inspired by Reginald Rose’s classic “12 Angry Men” and explores themes of justice, responsibility, prejudice, and moral courage through a contemporary theatrical interpretation. Over the years, the production has established itself as one of the most popular and widely attended performances at the Macedonian National Theatre.
The Dubrovnik appearance follows a series of successful regional performances, including guest engagements in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, further strengthening the theatre’s presence on the regional cultural scene. The tour reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to promoting Macedonian theatre beyond national borders and fostering artistic cooperation across Southeast Europe.
The cast features some of Macedonia’s most recognizable actors, including Nikola Ristanovski, Toni Mihajlovski, Igor Džambazov, Gorast Cvetkovski, Gjorgji Jolevski, and several other prominent performers.
By bringing “12” to Dubrovnik, the Macedonian National Theatre not only showcases one of its flagship productions but also contributes to the growing cultural exchange between theatre institutions in the region, reaffirming the universal appeal of contemporary stage art and its ability to spark dialogue on issues that transcend national boundaries.
