Sunbed prices on Montenegro’s beaches this summer start from 12 euros and vary significantly depending on the location, type of beach, position near the sea and level of service. While some beaches are keeping prices close to last year’s level, more popular and better-equipped locations along the coast are charging considerably higher amounts, especially in tourist-heavy zones.
According to beach operators, prices in some places will remain the same as last year despite inflation. One operator said that a standard set of sunbeds costs 12 euros, while a canopy costs 25 euros. Another beach tenant gave a similar estimate, noting that the average price for two sunbeds and an umbrella ranges between 10 and 15 euros on less expensive beaches.
The most affordable options are in the southern part of the Montenegrin coast. In Ulcinj, a set of two sunbeds and an umbrella can be rented for between 12 and 20 euros. Similar prices, generally between 15 and 20 euros, have also been recorded in Bar, Sutomore, Čanj and Buljarica.
Prices increase toward the central and northern parts of the coast, especially in better-known tourist destinations. In Kamenovo, Budva, Jaz and Rafailovići, the starting price for a set is around 25 euros. Similar prices are also reported across the Bay of Kotor, where beach services are generally more expensive than in the southern coastal areas.
The highest prices are found on luxury beaches and exclusive sections of the coast. On some premium locations, renting a sunbed set can cost up to 200 euros, depending on the beach, the position and the type of service offered. These prices have attracted attention because they are far above the standard amounts paid on more accessible beaches.
Tourists have already begun comparing the cost of summer holidays in Montenegro with destinations such as Turkey, Greece and Spain. Some visitors argue that in those countries, certain travel arrangements include additional services, while in Montenegro beach equipment is often charged separately.
