Six Detained After Incident at Thompson Concert in Croatia

ZAPREŠIĆ, Croatia – Six people were detained following an incident during a concert by Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson in the town of Zaprešić, authorities said.

According to Croatian police, officers intervened after several individuals allegedly disturbed public order and displayed prohibited behavior during the event. The suspects were taken into custody, and authorities have launched further proceedings to determine whether additional criminal or misdemeanor charges will be filed.

Police maintained a visible security presence throughout the concert and said the situation was brought under control without major disruptions to the event.

Thompson, one of Croatia’s most popular and controversial performers, has long drawn scrutiny over allegations that some of his concerts attract displays of symbols and slogans associated with the World War II-era Ustaša regime. His performances have repeatedly prompted increased police monitoring and public debate in Croatia and abroad.

Authorities have not released the identities of those detained, and the investigation remains ongoing.
