The tourism sector in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has generated nearly 1 billion convertible marks in revenue, highlighting the growing economic importance of travel and hospitality in the region.
Tourism has become one of the key sectors supporting local economies, with visitors increasingly attracted to destinations across the Federation, including historic cities, natural attractions, mountain areas and cultural landmarks. Official statistics show continued growth in tourist activity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with millions of overnight stays recorded annually.
The strong results have encouraged further investment in tourism infrastructure and services. Authorities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have allocated additional funding to support tourism development, including improvements to tourist destinations, infrastructure projects and outdoor tourism facilities.
Popular destinations such as Sarajevo, Mostar, Međugorje and mountain resorts continue to attract visitors from both the region and abroad. The sector has also benefited from growing interest in nature tourism, adventure activities and cultural experiences.
Tourism officials say the goal is to continue developing Bosnia and Herzegovina as a year round destination by improving services, promoting lesser known locations and attracting more international visitors.
