The second evening of the International Film Festival in Niš brought another night of cinema, premieres and appearances by well known actors, with the premiere of “In Good and Bad” becoming one of the main highlights of the program. The film was directed by Vladimir Aleksić, while members of the cast including Gala Videnović, Snežana Jeremić Nešković and Saša Đurašević appeared before the audience. Viewers also had the opportunity to participate in the festival’s competition by rating the films shown during the event.
The evening offered more than film screenings, with a varied program designed to bring audiences of different ages into the festival atmosphere. The day began with the children’s program “Magical Fortress,” which included the puppet theater performance “Magical Water” and interactive activities for younger visitors. Later, the musical and dramatic cabaret “Happy Girls” opened the evening program at King Milan Square, while the festival also welcomed the teams behind “There Will Be New Summers” and “First Class: Full Speed.”
One of the emotional moments of the evening was a tribute to the late actress Olivera Katarina. Festival audiences honored her memory with a minute of applause, while a preview of a series featuring what was described as her final acting role was also presented. The program then continued with a screening of the remastered classic “I Even Met Happy Gypsies,” directed by Aleksandar Saša Petrović, giving the audience an opportunity to see an important work of Serbian cinema in a restored version.
The festival continues in Niš through August 30, with more competitions, screenings and meetings with actors and other film professionals expected during the remaining days. The event brings together contemporary Serbian cinema, established film figures and special programs for audiences, while also creating opportunities for viewers to participate directly through the competition. With the premiere of “In Good and Bad,” appearances by the film’s cast and a tribute to Olivera Katarina, the second evening added another memorable chapter to this year’s festival.
