Families with babies in New Belgrade can receive free baby strollers as part of a local support program for parents, with the municipality continuing to distribute equipment to families whose children were born this year. So far, 110 parents have already received strollers, while additional families who have registered for the program will be included in the next rounds of distribution. The initiative is part of a wider effort by the New Belgrade municipality to provide practical support to families with young children and make the first months of parenthood somewhat easier.
The program is open to parents of children born in 2026 who have registered residence within the territory of the New Belgrade municipality. Parents who meet these conditions can apply by completing the required form and submitting the necessary documentation. Applications can be made in person at the registry office of the New Belgrade municipality, located at Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 167, in the service hall. There is also an online option, allowing eligible parents to submit their application electronically through the application available on the municipality’s official website.
The stroller distribution is not the only form of support available to families in the municipality. New Belgrade is also carrying out the “Welcome Baby to New Belgrade” project, through which newborns receive welcome packages, while child car seats and other baby packages are also being distributed. Another initiative, called “New Belgrade Mom,” provides mothers with support packages containing different products and services in cooperation with socially responsible companies. The municipality says these programs are intended to respond to the practical needs of families and provide concrete assistance during the period following the birth of a child.
With 110 families already receiving strollers and further distributions planned, parents of babies born this year who live in New Belgrade still have an opportunity to register for the program. The initiative is a local example of how municipalities can provide direct assistance to families through practical items that can otherwise represent a significant expense for new parents. Families interested in participating should check the municipality’s application procedure and prepare the required documentation before submitting their request, either in person or electronically.
