Dora Proeska, the sister of beloved Macedonian singer Toše Proeski, has shared an emotional family video showing the late music star singing alongside his father, Nikola Proeski.

The recording, posted on Facebook, captures a personal moment between father and son as they perform “Ne Kani Me,” a song by Macedonian singer Mile Kuzmanovski.

Unlike the large concert performances that made Toše famous throughout the Balkans, the video shows him enjoying music in a relaxed family atmosphere.

Dora accompanied the recording with a broken-heart emoji and a white dove, remembering two beloved family members who are no longer alive.

A Special Bond Between Father and Son

Nikola Proeski was one of Toše’s biggest supporters throughout his career. He frequently attended his son’s concerts, particularly those held in Skopje.

Following Toše’s tragic death, Nikola and his wife Dominika largely withdrew from public life.

Nikola died on May 2, 2024, in Kruševo, following a serious illness. Dora announced his passing through a social media post featuring a photograph of her father and brother.

Toše died on October 16, 2007, in a traffic accident near Nova Gradiška, Croatia. He was only 26 years old.

The singer often spoke about the importance of family. He once recalled that one of his happiest moments was being able to buy his father a car.

The newly shared video offers another glimpse into their close relationship and their shared love of music.

Toše Proeski’s Legacy Lives On

Nearly two decades after his death, Toše remains one of Macedonia’s most celebrated singers.

His music continues to connect generations of listeners across the Balkans and among Macedonian communities living abroad.

Dora has helped preserve her brother’s memory by sharing family photographs and personal recollections over the years.

Her older son, Kristijan, has also pursued music. A duet featuring Kristijan and Toše, titled “Moe Malečko,” was released in 2008.

For fans who remember Toše’s concerts and humanitarian work, the family recording offers something different: a quiet moment away from the spotlight.

Nineteen years after the singer’s death, his voice and music remain an important part of Macedonia’s cultural memory.
