Juventus has added two more players to its squad as the Italian club continues an extremely active summer transfer window. The Turin side officially presented Pape Matar Sarr and Nick Woltemade, bringing the number of new arrivals even higher as the club’s new management works to reshape the team ahead of the new season. Both players arrive on loan deals, giving Juventus additional options while also allowing the club to evaluate their performances before potentially making their moves permanent.
The first player presented was Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, who joins Juventus from Tottenham for the season. The 24 year old midfielder has already gained significant experience in the Premier League after moving to Tottenham from Metz. Juventus will reportedly pay €2.5 million for the one year loan, while the agreement includes an option to make the transfer permanent for an additional €27.5 million. Sarr gives Juventus another option in midfield and could provide greater depth during a season in which the club will face a demanding schedule across domestic and European competitions.
Several hours later, Juventus also officially announced the arrival of Nick Woltemade from Newcastle. The German forward will spend the season in Turin on loan, with Juventus paying a fixed €2.8 million fee. The total cost of the deal could increase by another €1 million depending on the conditions included in the agreement. Woltemade arrives to strengthen the attacking options, while Juventus will now have another player capable of competing for a place in the team’s forward line. His arrival is another indication of the club’s intention to add depth and quality in several areas of the squad.
The two latest additions come after a remarkable number of other signings made by Juventus during the same transfer window. Before Sarr and Woltemade, the club had already brought in goalkeepers Guglielmo Vicario and Kamil Grabara, as well as Randal Kolo Muani, Alajbegovic, Celik, Ekatore and Lucumi. The scale of the activity shows that Juventus is undergoing a significant squad transformation.
